From two-time Oscar nominee to working with Woody Allen – things just keep looking up for Australian acting veteran Jacki Weaver.

The 66-year-old has been added to the cast of Allen’s new, as-yet-untitled movie, which is currently filming in the south of France. The cast also includes Emma Stone, Colin Firth and Marcia Gay Harden.

Weaver was first nominated for an Oscar for Australian film Animal Kingdom in 2011, then again this year for Silver Linings Playbook.

She has shot several movies this year including Parkland, with Zac Efron and Billy Bob Thornton, and also remains attached to the comedy Wild Oats, which would see her star alongside Shirley MacLaine.

Comedy legend Allen is no stranger to working with Aussies. The writer-director’s next film, Blue Jasmine (due out in September), is led by Cate Blanchett, while Naomi Watts starred in You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger, which was released locally earlier this year.
