Every year, pharmaceutical companies spend billions to get doctors to prescribe drugs to children. Johnson Johnson even distributes tons of Legos that advertise its latest anti-psychotic, which causes diabetes, weight gain, and even breasts in boys and girls who take it.

In the past decade, America’s pharmaceutical industry has knowingly marketed dozens of dangerous drugs to millions of children, a group that executives apparently view as a lucrative, untapped market for their products. Most kids have no one to look out for their interests except anxious parents who put their trust in doctors. As it turns out, that trust is often misplaced.

Big Pharma spends massive amounts to entertain physicians, send them on luxury vacations and ply them with an endless supply of free products. As a result, hundreds of thousands of American kids—some as young as three years old—have become dependent on amphetamines like Adderall and a pharmacopeia of other drugs that allegedly treat depression, insomnia, aggression and other mental health disorders.

The fact that none of these powerful mood-altering medications have been approved by the FDA to treat children under 10 has posed no obstacle to the industry’s marketing masterminds. They’ve waved off objections by some some doctors who wonder how these complex drugs will affect the vulnerable brains and bodies of their young patients. Other experts have warned that children exposed to this multi-molecular barrage on their central nervous systems could potentially be at much higher risk of becoming adults who are addicted to chemicals, prescription and otherwise. But thanks to a billion-dollar advertising campaign, millions of kids across the nation are now taking pills to control a long litany of “behavioral problems.”

Luckily, Johnson and Johnson is not getting off scot-free. Last week, Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakely announced that the state was suing the world’s biggest pharmaceutical firm, Johnson Johnson, for illegally promoting Risperdal, an “atypical anti-psychotic”, for off-label treatment of childhood schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, autism, hyperactivity and attention deficit disorder, depression and anxiety, sleep disorders, anger management, mood enhancement or stabilization. As BNet’s Placebo Effect blog recently reported, the list of maladies is grotesquely long. JJ, which prides itself on its high-minded credo of “always putting patients first,” began moving its new drug into this new market as soon as Risperdal won approval in adults—even though the FDA explicitly forbid it from doing so, for the simple reason that the firm had never done a single test of the drug in children who suffered from these or any other conditions.

I am a nurse,and have seen doctors prescribe medications in order to get the patient to leave them alone,basically-to shut up the patient,stop their complaining and attention-seeking,etc( percieved so by the docs,anyways) There are people who expect a pill will be the miracle-bullet to fix their symptoms,and the docs move them right along,in and out the door,by prescribing something,anything,to satisfy that need.Of course,certainly not all doctors practice this,but quite a few do.When you see a med list of any typical 75 yr old,there are anywhere between eight and twenty-five ordered medications taken daily,on average.Smells like money in someone’s pocket–just not the patient’s.

Okay growing up in the popularization of drug targeting. I had a learning disorder in which my brain operates at a faster tempo then the average Joe. I would choose the train of my own thought, rather then the doldrums of governmant teaching.

This led to being prescribed Riddalin and thank God I never took the pills. Over the span of my Life I’ve learned to deal with my change of mind. Just recently I had gotten past the propaganda against legitimate herbal remedies. Needless to say if taken responsably, my mind is slowed to what I would think is a normal speed.

I’m not “pro-eugenics” either for saying this, what I’m saying is there IS a deliberate plan that is weakening us as a species, that the majority of people cannot or refuse to comprehend. I know it IS also human nature and empathy to protect the infirm, but theres also a huge exploitation of this very much natural instinct.. which IS NOT doing us any favors.

The American people have lost the instinct to protect their children. The medical mafia is maiming and killing their kids with vaccines and drugs. This will be a generation that has a lower life expectancy than its parents. I understand how young people have no respect for their parents. What’s to respect in parents that let their own children be maimed and killed. I don’t see how this corporate nightmare can continue. Sick, evil corporate brainwashing can only go so far.   Yeah, this bunch is incredible. They’re like wall st and the banks except they play on health = life. Quaff our remedies or DIE! Their basic sales pitch is based on “fear of dying from poor health.”
  
  Imagine a person hung up on a dozen prescriptions which don’t help them because all that crap doesn’t have healing OR curative value. These folks are living miserable lives and then, say, they die. Will an autopsy be done to learn why? Nah…they just didn’t respond to treatment: “pharm therapy.” Ha!
  
  Too, that these folks couldn’t kick smoking, sitting on their huge asses, sucking up “bad food,” and consequently invite a “doctor” to manage their bodies via pharm poisons which render them worse off.
  
  In the “olden days,” these pharm shysters traveled from town to town in their “medicine” wagons, sold “snake oil” and moved on. Now they stay in place and push the same bull-shit products using clever marketing-ese. The chemicals they sell don’t resolve anything. But it sure makes them an incredible amount of money to “treat” all those pathetic sick people out there.
  
  Your body can heal itself and it’s YOUR responsibility, not you doctor’s. Eat right and all the rest of that. If it weren’t for all the so-called “sick” people, doctors would be receiving serf pay. Just look out for your own precious body and your life especially since the pharms anymore own the doctors – the drug pushers; and their practices, – the mini-pharm clearing houses.
