Mainstream media is missing the point
Mainstream media is mostly concerned with the economic implications of animal viruses. The try to estimate if China will import meat from other countries, or if the viruses will affect the meat supply in their own countries as well.
In addition, when there are human casualties, this topic is, of course, covered extensively as well.
But what about the animals? Millions of them, dying horrible deaths from viruses that spread like wildfire because of animal farming and humans’ ever-growing demand for meat. When we consider the animals’ point of view, questions about whether China will manage to import enough pig flesh from other countries seem surreal, if not completely insane.
