Charles worried about Prince Harry

Prince Charles, the heir to the British throne, asked his son to write more letters home, following revelations that Taliban would hugely increase the bounty for assassination of Harry after he killed one of their high-ranking commanders.

“With two sons currently serving in the Armed Forces, one of whom is with you all out there; I really do have at least some understanding of what your loved ones are going through,” Prince Charles said.

“I daresay in some ways it may be slightly easier for those serving away from home, with their mind on the job in hand, than those left behind, because of the constant worry.”

Harry arrived at Camp Bastion in Afghanistan on September 7 to begin a four-month combat tour for the British military to fly Apache attack helicopters.

Taliban issued a warning to the British royal family earlier, saying they are determined to catch Prince Harry dead or alive.

A total of 438 British soldiers have died in Afghanistan since the US-led invasion of the country in 2001. However, no official record of the Afghan civilians’ death toll is at hand.

Currently, about 9,000 British forces are in Afghanistan, which makes Britain the second largest occupying force in the war-ravaged Asian country after the US.
