Cyclist’s identity eludes police



A CYCLIST who died when he collided with a car in far north Queensland has yet to be identified.


The collision occurred at 2.15pm (AEST) on Saturday on the Kennedy Highway at Mareeba, police said.

The male cyclist died at the scene and is described as caucasian, about 170cm tall, of slim build with grey hair.

He was wearing silver sunglasses, a Seilix brand analogue watch, a red helmet and a white baseball cap with ‘Southbank Parklands’ emblazoned on it.

He was riding a silver Colorado Bushcruiser mountain bike.
