Debris discovered in the Seychelles not from missing MH370: Malaysian Civil Aviation Authority

nsnbc : Malaysian authorities reported on July 14 that pieces of airplane debris found in the Seychelles are not from the Boeing 777-200 that went missing on flight MH370, in March 2014, in its way from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, with 239 people on board.

Plane debris_(atchives)_Jul 2017Authorities from the Seychelles, located in the Indian Ocean, on July 13,  announced on July 13 the discovery of two pieces of airplane debris washed up on an island. Considering the likelihood that the debris could belong to the missing Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777-200 that went missing in the region in 2014, the Seychelles immediately notified Malaysian authorities.

However, Malaysia said that the debris was not from the plane after contacting the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority for more information. According to Azharuddin Abdul Rahman, director general of Malaysia’s Department of Civil Aviation, the MH370 investigation team carried out an assessment and concluded that the debris was not from a Boeing 777 or Rolls Royce engine of the plane that disappeared on flight MH370.

Malaysia Airlines’ Flight MH370 has become one of the world’s greatest aviation mysteries. The governments of Malaysia, Australia and China halted the search for the missing plane in January this year after spending over 140 million USD on it. Families, legal council for families and advocacy organizations including Voice370 called for the continuation of the search, denouncing the halt of the investigation as scandalous and inhumane.

The airplane is believed to have gone down in the Indian Ocean. Various pieces of debris have been collected from Indian Ocean islands and Africa’s east coast. At least three of them have, according to investigative authorities, been confirmed as coming from the missing Boeing 777, even though no independently verifiable evidence was provided to the press.
