DHS/TSA are installing microphones and cameras to spy on public transit commuters

Thanks, to DHS & TSA grants totaling nearly $3 million, the NJ Transit has nearly finished installing DriveCam LTYX’s cameras with microphones to spy on every commuter 24/7. (Note: NJ’s Transit has been using DriveCam surveillance cameras since 2006.)

“In 2011, the [NJ Transit] Board authorized a $2.7 million contract with DriveCam, Inc. of San Diego, California, for installation of hardware on 968 cruiser buses and a two-year agreement for managed services, including technical support.”

Fyi, the TSA is working with DHS to install these invasive spying cameras everywhere under the guise of “public safety”‘

TSA administrator Peter Neffenger, admits they couldn’t spy on every commuter without local governments voluntarily installing these surveillance systems.

“TSA could not accomplish its essential counterterrorism security mission without our partners voluntarily adopting security improvements and sharing best practices… [Public transportation’s] Industry’s efforts are fueled by the resources that TSA’s funding provides.”

DHS/TSA and the DOT are working together to create a national commuter surveillance system…

“TSA, on behalf of DHS, is a co-Sector Specific Agency alongside DOT and USCG for the transportation sector. DOT and TSA work together to integrate safety and security priorities.”

State and city run commuter programs are working with DHS & the TSA…

“… Direct responsibility for securing surface transportation systems falls on the owners and operators of those systems. TSA’s role is to support these owners and operators in the identification of risk, develop security programs to address that risk, and help the owners and operators implement those security programs.”

Cameras with microphones have been installed on River Line trains, which cost $750,000 and the $1.9 million expense to install them on Hudson -Bergen and Newark light rail trains will be covered by a DHS grant, said Jennifer Nelson, an NJ Transit spokeswoman. According to Neffenger TSA security grants, have totaled over $2.3 billion since 2006. The NJ Transit has been receiving DHS grants since at least 2004, for more information go to NJ Transit’s homepage and type in “Homeland Security grants”.

DriveCams are also spying on every Washington Metro Transit commuter and San Francisco Transit commuter.

In Nassau County, New York transit buses have a total of TEN video cameras mounted inside and outside!

Last October, I warned everyone that “public transportation commuters are being spied on billions of times a year.”

According to the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Americans took 10.8 billion trips on public transportation in 2014.

Lets say that half of all America’s trains, buses etc., are equipped with surveillance cameras, that means commuters are being spied on at least 5.4 BILLION TIMES A YEAR! It’s more likely the figures are higher and closer to 11 BILLION!

DriveCam admits Big Brother surveillance cameras are being used as a disciplinary measure.

Below is an excerpt from DriveCams San Fran Municipal Transportation case study titled, “Big Brother: Muni has seen a substantial decrease in accidents since installing the DriveCam.”

“DriveCam works well as both a training tool and a disciplinary measure,” Mason said. “The operators are more aware of their actions because of the camera, and they’re receiving better training because of the information we’ve gathered from past accidents. When the operators know they have Big Brother watching them, it makes them want to do the right thing.”

It also works as a disciplinary tool with passengers as well, because they’re too afraid to speak their minds knowing Big Brother is watching and listening to every conversation.

First Transit the nation’s leading shuttle bus, paratransit service provider uses DriveCams to spy on every passenger.

“First Transit’s customers include transit agencies such as Los Angeles and Houston; universities such as Texas State and Princeton; and state transportation departments, such as Illinois and Connecticut.”

Greyhound bus company also uses DriveCam to spy on every passenger.

But it gets worse, three more bus companies, Easton Coach, Annette Bus Lines and Republic Parking Systems a shuttle bus company use DriveCams to spy on EVERYONE. Incredibly, there’s even a taxi company using DriveCams to spy on customers!

Waste Management’s garbage trucks are using DriveCams to spy on the public.
