District Turns School Buses Into WiFi Hot Spots Despite Doctor Warnings About Radiation Exposure to Kids

By B.N. Frank

Most Americans are probably aware that the coronavirus pandemic has caused schools in several states to be closed and students being forced to take virtual online classes.  Unfortunately, most Americans may still not be aware that American Academy of Pediatrics and other health experts have warned that children are more vulnerable to wireless radiation exposure –including Bluetooth, Cell Phone and WiFi – because they are smaller, their skulls are thinner, and their bodies are still developing.

WiFi exposure health risks include reduced immunity to illnesses which is especially worth considering right now.  Exposure can also disrupt the blood brain barrier which can cause it to leak.  Also worth considering – there is still no “safe” level of wireless exposure that has been scientifically determined for kids or pregnant women.  That’s why doctors, educators, and parents in the U.S. and worldwide have been fighting for schools to replace WiFi in schools with wired internet (see 1, 2, 3) for many years already.

There’s no doubt that education is beneficial to children.  But forcing them to be exposed to harmful wireless radiation in order to be educated is cruel and unnecessary.  Regardless, one FCC Commissioner has already recommended that schools provide WiFi hot spots to families with school children to install in their homes.  Cuckoo Cuckoo!  Now an Illinois school district has set up WiFi hot spots in stationary school buses for students.

From WILL-AM Urbana, Illinois:

A southern Illinois high school district outfitted four of its school buses with Wi-Fi hot spots to provide internet access to students while public schools are closed during the coronavirus pandemic. Bus drivers in the Belleville Township system park their vehicle at seven parks around the community for three hours on weekdays.

“People can just pull up, come up and download the information they need for the day and then go,” said BTHS District 201 Assistant Superintendent Brian Mentzer.

Mentzer said a member of the district’s IT department came up with the idea as educators in the district discussed how they’d transition to an online learning model.

“And everybody’s heads nodded like, yeah, that’s a great idea,” he said.

Nope.  Not a great idea, Melissa.  For many years already Silicon Valley parents have been sending their own kids to private low-tech schools AND sometimes taking extreme measures to reduce their kids’ use and exposure to tech.
