A man died in Thornbury when his car rolled through at least three front yards and hit a house this morning.
Police said a 23-year-old Northcote man was driving a Honda Accord north along Victoria Road about 2.15am when he lost control of the vehicle and hit a traffic island.
The car rolled several times, smashed into trees and rolled through at least three front yards before hitting a house.
The driver died at the scene.
The damage to the house was minor and no residents were injured.
The road toll is now at 205, four more than at the same time last year.
