Egyptian Court Upholds Broadcast Suspension of Al-Jazeera Mubasher Misr

TCP : High Administrative Court upheld Monday a final court ruling that suspends broadcast by Al-Jazeera Mubasher Misr, Youm7 reported.

Al-Jazeera_LogoThe court, that only considers Egypt’s international cases, rejected two appeals from the State Legislature Authority and Doha-based Al Jazeera network against the court ruling motioned on Sept. 3, 2014.

The network announced the suspension of its broadcast for Al Jazeera Mubasher news channel on Dec. 23, 2014.

Since the ouster of former Islamist President Mohamed Morsi by the military in July 3 after mass protests calling for the end of his regime, Cairo accused Al-Jazeera Mubasher Misr of publishing ant-regime content.

Al Jazeera is funded by the Qatari government, and many Egyptians consider it the mouthpiece of the Muslim Brotherhood, which has been banned in Egypt since December 2013.
