Awake Goy Baku, June 8, IRNA – Iran’s Ambassador to Baku Mohsen Pakayeen said that mass media has important and constructive role in developing bilateral ties.
He made the remarks in a meeting with Trend News Agency Director General Ilgar Huseynov here on Wednesday.
The ambassador said that political and economic relations between Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan are developing day by day, so the media cooperation between the two countries should be expanded and deepened.
He appreciated positive role of Trend News Agency in reflecting Iran’s economic news.
Huseynov explained activities of Trend news agency in the past several years and its cooperation with known international news agencies and called for expansion of professional cooperation with Iranian media.
He said that Trend publishes its news in Persian, Russian, English, Arabic and French languages and said that one of the goals in the agency is to develop its Persian language sector.
Trend News Agency is a non-governmental agency, which was founded in 1995 and is providing news for Azerbaijan Republic, Caucasus and Central Asian countries.
The agency became member of Organization of Pacific-Asia News Agency (OANA) in 2010.
