Ex-navy chief unveils plans for new post in Iran’s army

Tasnim – The new deputy chief of Iran’s Army for coordination stressed the need for keeping the military knowledge and hardware up-to-date, assuring the nation that the country’s armed forces will counter all types of threats.

Speaking to reporters in Tehran on Saturday, former commander of the Navy Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said efforts should be focused on modern sciences to deal with threats.

He also highlighted the importance of training human resources in modern tactics to deal with future threats.

Rear Admiral Sayyari also reassured the Iranian people that the Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) will jointly stand against all threats and ensure sustainable security in Iran.

In a decree last week, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei put Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi in charge of the Navy, and appointed his predecessor to the post of deputy chief of the Army for coordination.

The Leader has repeatedly stressed the need for strengthening the country’s military power and called on the Armed Forces to maintain a high level of preparedness.
