EXCLUSIVE: Militants Initiate New Offensive on Syrian Army Positions in Eastern Ghouta

Faylaq al-Rahman cooperating with Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham fighters simultaneously carried out all-round attack on the positions of the government forces. This assault was initiated shortly after the terrorists with the use of suicide vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices (SVBIEDs) had attempted to break the blockade from Harasta district towards al-Qaboun.

SVBIEDs were used operationally against the people’s militia holding the mosque (that is formerly the illegal First Brigade in Damascus of the Free Syrian Army who had switched the sides) and against the government forces’ block posts in the town of Hazrama (a small town in Syria located in Rif Dimashq Governorate near Douma) and al-Nashabiyah towards international airport. This was an attempt to disrupt a siege in the Eastern Qalamoun.

Now severe clashes have been going on at the front line in the towns of Erbin and Harasta, in the southeast of Eastern Ghouta and in the towns of Hazrama and al-Nashabiyah, at M5 highway to the north of the city of Douma, and also in Jobar area in the villages of Ein Tarma. The residential areas of Damascus are shelled by the militants from the MLRS and mortars. The locals are under attack of Faylaq al-Rahman and Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham fighters.
