A South Florida teenager was arrested for masquerading as a doctor. Authorities say he was cited by the state health department for the same behavior a few months ago.

Malachi Love-Robinson, 18 years of age, was arrested after conducting a physical exam and giving medical advice to an undercover police officer who posed as a patient. The Palm Beach Post reported that the teen had operated a medical office in West Palm Beach since January 26. Robinson, who calls himself “Dr. Love”, claimed to be a doctor of psychology. His practice is allegedly named New Birth New Life Holistic and Alternative Medical and Urgent Care Center.

On the Center’s website, Robinson describes himself as a “well rounded professional” whose practice bases “treatment of physiological functions and abnormal conditions on natural laws governing the human body.” Elsewhere he claimed to treat several illnesses and accept insurance at his West Palm Beach office. On another site, he claimed to use such methods as psychotherapy, minor surgery, and natural medicines. He did not list any schools that he attended but claimed to have a Ph.D.

The Post also reported that Robinson has been investigated at least twice prior to this incident. In January, 2015, Robinson wore a doctor’s coat and stethoscope and walked the halls of a local hospital. After it was determined that he had not entered any patients’ rooms or performed any procedures, the hospital declined to file charges. In October, 2015, he was issued a cease-and-desist order after allegedly operating another fake medical practice in Boynton Beach, FL. During that investigation, Robinson’s mother told police that her son had an illness but was not taking his medication.

During an apparent house call, an elderly woman says Robinson visited her at home when she was sick, told her she needed to go to a hospital, and stole her checkbook.

Robinson is charged with two counts of practicing medicine without a license, one charge of grand theft larceny, and four counts of fraud. He was released on $21,000 bail.
