Gaza civilian killed in Israeli airstrike

Witnesses said Israeli warplanes struck four targets in the eastern and southern parts of Gaza City and in the southern Gaza Strip towns of Khan Younis and Rafah around midnight on Saturday night.

Speaking in Tehran on Saturday, democratically elected Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh reiterated the Hamas movement’s long-held stance that it “will never recognize Israel,” as Palestinian efforts to form a temporary unity government headed by acting Palestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas continue.
