Here’s What Lady Gaga Confessed Just DAYS After Her Super Bowl Performance (Video)

I’ll admit, I have never been a big fan of Lady Gaga’s, I mean just the name itself is pretty strange not to mention that she’s basically a walking freak show. Some of her outfits, make-up and hairdo’s she sports are completely bizarre. But after her incredible Super Bowl performance, I have a huge change of heart.

Like they say, never judge a book by it’s cover.

Sean Brown at Politiculture writes that at Super Bowl 50, Gaga delivered one of the most breathtaking renditions of the “Star Spangled Banner” that we’ve heard in a long time, and it turns out, she had a deeply personal reason for doing so. While most know her for wearing meat dresses and otherwise trying to get attention through shocking our country, I’m sure we all can appreciate that she holds deeply patriotic views. No, really.

Gaga told the NFL in a statement that it had always been a dream of hers to sing the National Anthem at a major sports event.

“This is one of the highest honors of my career,” Gaga said. “I get a chance to sing for all the athletes who have been working so hard their whole life for this moment.”

For those who haven’t seen it, check out Gaga belting out one of the most difficult songs an artist can sing:

Absolutely beautiful, wasn’t it? I’ll be honest, it brought tears to my eyes, and that’s no joke.

But what makes it even better was knowing her motivation. Here’s why she took it so seriously, according to QPolitical:

“I just thought about the lyrics and what they really mean,” said Gaga. They’ve been around a long time, so I thought about what they mean now, I just sang from my heart.”

“No matter what you go through, the same as our country, that metaphor of ‘but the flag was still there’ is so powerful for me every time,” said Gaga. “I’m really singing it from the heart and I’m also singing it very true to the way it was written because that’s when I think it sounds its most majestic. There’s no greater honor than standing next to the Color Guard, the Flag, the Army and the Military and singing the National Anthem.”

Like I said, I was never a big fan of hers but I sure am now!

God Bless.
