Hezbollah chief thanks states rejecting to recognize movement as terrorists

Secretary General of the Lebanese Hezbollah movement Hassan Nasrallah said that Riyadh would barely “forgive” the states that rejected to recognize Hezbollah as terrorist organization.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Secretary General of the Lebanese Hezbollah movement Hassan Nasrallah on Sunday expressed his appreciation to the states that have not recognized the movement as terrorist group.

On Wednesday, the six-nation Persian Gulf Cooperation Council, comprising Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain and Kuwait, officially added Hezbollah, and all groups affiliated to it, to its so-called list of terrorist organizations. Syria and Iran stood against the PGCC’s move.

“We are grateful to everyone, who is in solidarity with us and who defended us against the decision of the Persian Gulf states,” Nasrallah said, as broadcast by the Lebanese Al-Manar television channel.

He added that Riyadh would barely “forgive” the states that rejected to recognize Hezbollah as terrorist organization.

Aside from the PGCC, Hezbollah Shia Muslim movement is, partially or entirely, considered a terrorist organization by a number of countries including the United States, Israel and the United Kingdom, but not by Russia.
