Donald Trump spoke with the Associated Press in one of the most unintelligible interviews to date.

For starters, Trump claimed he is “mostly there” when it comes to fulfilling his 100-day action plan ; however the reality is he has missed the majority of his marks promised during the campaign.

The infamous Trumpcare roll out was a total disaster . In addition, his border wall venture that began with Mexico paying for its construction has now turned into a battle to force the American people to pay for the wall with the empty promise that at some later date Mexico will reimburse the US.

And while Trump changes the amount his border wall will cost (from $4 billion to $12 billion depending on the day he is asked), in his latest interview, Trump said: “I think I’ll do it for $10 billion or less.”

Experts and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agree that the real cost of his border wall will begin at $20 billion.

Trump was asked about his conversation with Congressman Elijah Cummings, and he responded with this unintelligible word salad: “Well he said, you’ll be the greatest president in the history of, but you know what, I’ll take that also, but that you could be. But he said, will be the greatest president but I would also accept the other. In other words, if you do your job, but I accept that. Then I watched him interviewed and it was like he never even was here. It’s incredible. I watched him interviewed a week later and it’s like he was never in my office. And you can even say that.”

Cummings relayed a completely different account of their meeting, explaining his use of the word “if”. The congressman explained in a statement at the time: “During my meeting with the president and on several occasions since then, I have said repeatedly that he could be a great president if … if … he takes steps to truly represent all Americans rather than continuing on the divisive and harmful path he is currently on.”

When asked about Wikileaks, Trump said: “Never heard of Wikileaks, never heard of it. When Wikileaks came out, all I was just saying is, ‘Well, look at all this information here, this is pretty good stuff’… I don’t support or unsupport.”

The truth is that Trump praised Wikileaks on the campaign trail and during the transition period. While president-elect, Trump was vocally against US intelligence officials who concluded that Wikileaks assisted Russia in publishing hacked emails from the DNC and John Podesta.

On the subject of the Electoral College, Trump said it is ““very difficult for a Republican to win” because the institution is “skewed” toward Democrats.

The facts do not support Trump’s version of the Electoral College. Professor William Murphy pointed out that the reason the Electoral College may actually favor Republicans is because “Democratic voters live in large urban areas, and are concentrated in several parts of the country. There are more of them, somewhat, but they live in relatively compact geographic areas. This gives Republicans a mild advantage in the Electoral College; Republican voters are more spread out, and the Electoral College system potentially over-represents them slightly as a part of the overall population.”

On the topic of NATO, Trump admitted he did not know what the alliance did, but doubled down on his previous erroneous statement that “back when they did NATO there was no such thing as terrorism.”

The fact remains that NATO, founded in 1949, was conceived out of post-revolutionary France in the 18th century. And the concept of “terrorism” has been around for centuries .
