nsnbc : Indonesia and Serbia held the third round of bilateral talks in the Serbian capital Belgrade to discuss efforts to intensify bilateral relations between the two countries in key sectors.

The Third Bilateral Consultative Forum aimed at discussing possibilities and initiatives to strengthen political, economic and socio-cultural relations. The participants focused among others on initiatives that could have direct impacts on the people of Indonesia and Serbia, said Indonesia Ambassador to Serbia, Harry R.J. Kandou in a statement released by the embassy on Saturday.
Ambassador Kandou noted that the people should directly benefit from bilateral cooperation in the fields of economic cooperation, investment and trade. He added:
“Regarding people-to-people contact, the Indonesian delegation has emphasized the importance of education and socio-cultural cooperation for instance by providing scholarships and student exchanges”.
The Serbian delegation was led by Director for Asia, Australia and the Pacific of the Serbian Foreign Ministry Aleksandar Jankovic.
The Indonesian delegation was let by the director for Central and East Europe Affairs of the Indonesian Foreign Ministry, T.B.H. Witjaksono Adji and accompanied by Ambassador Kandou. The delegation also held talks with the Serbian Chamber of Commerce to discuss prospects from commercial and economic cooperation.
The Indonesia delegates also toured projects launched by Indonesian investors in the European country such as the Indo Adriatic Food factory and a mushroom plantation owned by Delta Danube in Kovin.
