Infant dies after breathing Israeli tear gas in Ramallah

An 18-month old Palestinian infant died on Friday, two months after suffering from breathing Israeli tear gas targeted his house in Ramallah.

Palestinian ministry of health said the 18-month-old Abdul-Rahman al-Barghouti suffered serious health condition in the wake of breathing Israeli tear gas targeted his house in May.

Therefore, he was transferred to Hadassah Hospital in. However, the ministry said: “All efforts to save his life failed and the infant passed away on Friday evening.”

Al-Barghouti breathed the Israeli tear gas when the Israeli occupation forces haphazardly shot tear at Palestinian homes, causing many Palestinians including the infant to suffer from tear gas inhalation.

Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation forces opened live ammunition on protesters, injuring several Palestinian youths in the lower part of their bodies.

When Al-Barghouti’s family called for paramedics to help the infant, the Israeli occupation soldiers prevented the Palestinian Red Crescent ambulances from reaching his home.

The paramedics were also forced to rush towards his house on foot and carried him back to the ambulances on foot.

Al-Barghouti became the 36th Palestinian to be killed by Israeli forces since the start of 2017 and the third infant to be killed since the start of current intifada in October 2015.
