The International Energy Agency said Iranian oil exports reached a one-year high in January and February.

The Paris-based agency said Iran’s biggest clients were in East Asia as Teheran exported 1.3 million barrels per day.

“Higher Iranian imports in recent months reflect, in large part, increased sales of condensates to Asian buyers,” IAE said. “Imports of Iranian oil surged in Japan and South Korea, albeit from exceptionally low January levels.”

The report on March 14 was said to have reflected the sharp rebound of Iran’s energy sector in wake of the P5+1 nuclear agreement in November 2013.

IAE also reported increased Iranian exports to Syria and Turkey in February.
