Iran is not only talking about lifting the sanctions or reaching a temporary or interim deal on its nuclear programme, Foreign Ministry spokesman, Saeed Khatibzadeh, said yesterday.
Khatibzadeh added that his country “is not in a hurry”, stressing that it would not allow anyone to “play” with their time and energy in Vienna, the Jerusalem Post reported.
The spokesman also said that the Iranian delegation to Vienna was willing to be flexible, but the other side is not.
“We know what we want and what we want is completely within the framework of the JCPOA,” he said, in reference to the 2015 nuclear deal known formally as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, stressing that the talks had not been halted, but a break had been agreed and talks would resume this weekend.

Khatibzadeh rejected the demands of Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett for world powers to force Iran to stop enriching uranium before continuing the talks in Vienna.
“The occupying regime in Jerusalem has been opposed to any dialogue in the region since day one,” Khatibzadeh said.
Khatibzadeh stressed that addressing Bennett’s statements any further would be a “waste of time.”
The latest round of talks between Iran and world powers in Vienna ended on Friday without any progress, mass media reported.
Both Israeli Defence Minister Benny Gantz and Mossad Chief David Barnea are visiting Washington this week to discuss Iran with US officials.
