The event will run at the Ferdowsi University of Mashhad until May 14, which is annually celebrated as the national Ferdowsi Day in Iran.
The three-day congress will present articles and lectures on the world-renowned Persian epic poet and his masterpiece Shahnameh (Book of Kings).
The book is a classic among epic Persian poetry and recounts Iran’s mythical and historical past. It was written in Persian at a time when Arabic was the main scientific and literary language of Iran.
Tajik expert Shahmansour Shahmirza Khajaev will present a speech during the event along with a number of Iranian scholars including Jalaleddin Kazzazi, Jalal Khaleqi-Motlaq, Hassan Anousheh and Shahin Seraj.
