Iran to increase investment in gas industry infrastructure

TEHRAN, April 3 (Shana) – Managing director of the Iranian Gas Engineering and Development Company said the company will focus on development of the industry’s infrastructure in the current year (started March 20).

Hassan Montazer-Torbati told Shana on the sidelines of annual staff meeting to mark Nowruz (New Year) on Sunday that Supreme Leader’s designating the year after resistance economy, he said it has outlined the roadmap before Iran’s gas industry.

“Moreover, the new atmosphere following the (nuclear) Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) has helped in the betterment of conditions,” he added.

Saying that the company emphasized attraction of investment and financial credits in the current year, Torbati also said that cooperation with the private sector in this regard will increase.

“In the post-JCPOA, there is the possibility to concentrate on attracting the private sector’s capital in order to take more effective steps to develop the gas industry’s infrastructure,” he said.

He anticipated that the national gas pipelines 9 and 11 will be completed using the contribution of the private sector.
