Awake Goy TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran’s Judiciary Chief Sadeq Amoli Larijani said the West, Israel and their regional Arab allies are behind the “deplorable” move made by the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council to designate Lebanon’s resistance movement, Hezbollah, as a “terror group”.
“The resistance movement of Hezbollah in Lebanon protects the integrity of Arabs and Muslims against the Zionist regime,” Amoli Larijani said Monday, addressing the judiciary officials in Tehran.
He said Hezbollah forced the Zionist forces out of Lebanon, something that the Arab armies couldn’t achieve after two consecutive wars with Israel in the 1960s.
In relevant remarks on Sunday, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Hassan Firouzabadi lashed out at the PGCC and the Arab League for declaring Hezbollah as a “terrorist group”, saying the move would have minimal impact on the resistance movement’s regional clout.
“No doubt the move was made upon an order by the Zionists and the sworn enemies of Islam and Great Prophet Mohammad (PBUH),” Firouzabadi said.
He noted that the “hasty and ill-advised” move was made on behalf of the United States and Israel to help materialize their objectives in the region, adding, “Despite efforts by the House of Saud and its regional and trans-regional allies, Hezbollah’s deep-seated position will remain intact. It will not shift the balance of power in the region. It will not help the Zionists extend their grip on the occupied Palestinian territories.”
Also on Thursday, Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hossein Jaberi Ansari lashed out at the PGCC for designating Hezbollah resistance movement a “terrorist group”.
Speaking to reporters, Jaberi Ansari said Hezbollah represents Muslim efforts for independence, freedom, justice, and integrity, adding that those who are against the resistance group are in fact siding with the policies of the occupiers of Palestine.
“Certain Arab countries are against the Hezbollah resistance movement. The movement represents the efforts and ideals of Muslim nations for independence, freedom, justice, and integrity. Hezbollah stands against the Israeli oppression, occupation, racism and terrorism. It also stands against the Takfiri terrorism and extremism. Those who are behind the move are knowingly or unknowingly undermining the interests of the Muslim nations,” he added.
