Israel attacks Syrian military research center

nsnbc : The Syrian Army Air Defense on Wednesday, confronted a new attack by Israeli forces on military positions in Damascus countryside report official Syrian sources. The target of the latest Israeli aggression against Syria was the Jamaraya military Research and Development Center. It is the second time within three month that Israel has targeted the facility.

The Syrian General Command of the Army and the Armed Forces said in a statement that “warplanes of the Israeli enemy on 3:42 am on Wednesday fired several missiles from inside the Lebanese territories on one of our military positions in Damascus Countryside, and the air defense intercepted the missiles and destroyed most of them.”

The General Command also stated that “this outrageous aggression comes in framework of the desperate and repeated attempts to raise the morale of the terrorist organizations which are collapsing in all areas and to encourage terrorists, the tools of the Israeli enemy, to continue their attacks against civilians, particularly in Damascus and its countryside”.

The Command also affirmed armed forces’ readiness to confront any attack and to foil it and to continue the war against terrorism till eliminating it and restoring security and stability to all the Syrian territories. The Command held Israel fully responsible for the dangerous repercussions of its repeated and uncalculated hostile adventures.

Sources in Syria reported to nsnbc that at least one of the missiles targeted the Jaramaya military Research and Development Center.

Lebanon gas block tenders Mediterranean_2018It was the second time within three months that Israel has targeted the facility, alleging that Syria is developing missiles as well as unspecified “unconventional weapons” there.

It is worth noting that the attack took place against the backdrop of Israeli Prime Minister benjamin Netanyahu’s visit too Israel’s northern border and heightened tensions between Israel and Lebanon over Israel’s apparent attempt to build a wall on Lebanese territory, also potentially infringing on Lebanese offshore oil and gas blocks.
