“The settlers cut off all the olive trees and threw stones at the houses. This is the second time this has happened this week. The settlers have been harassing us for three years. They have shot and injured our people,” a villager told Press TV.
The Israeli settlers also vandalized Palestinian properties by spraying racist slogans on the walls of the houses.
Palestinian security officials detained some of the settlers, but released them later upon the arrival of Israeli army forces. Israeli soldiers then fired tear gas at Palestinian villagers protesting against the assault.
The Israeli army has claimed that it would investigate the incident.
Settler attacks against Palestinians and their properties have increased in recent months as the Tel Aviv regime continues to expand illegal settlements on the occupied Palestinian lands.
More than half a million Israelis live in over 120 illegal settlements built since Israel’s occupation of the Palestinian territories of the West Bank and East al-Quds in 1967.
