Israeli settlers steal Palestinian land in Jordan Valley

Israeli Jewish settlers from illegal settlements of Salit and Miskiot in Jordan Valley stole wide swathes of Palestinian lands, built new settlement units.

The settlers from Salit and Miskiot “seized more than 300 dunams [about 75 acres] from Himat Khilla area during the past two days,” director of anti-settlement activities in the West Bank city of Tubas Mutaz Bsharat said.

He noted that the Jewish settlers laid down foundations for barracks and settlement units in addition to installing water pipes.

Israeli newspaper Haaretz said that the Israeli Jewish settlers are working on building new settlements before the eyes of the Israeli occupation authorities.

It said that the Israeli occupation army reportedly issued stop-work orders and said it would take more measurements to enforce law.

However, the Israeli newspaper argued, building on the recently stolen Palestinian land is still going on with the knowledge of the Israeli occupation authorities.

On Wednesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that his government will join a project carried out by El-Ad to search for Jewish remains in the rubble extracted from under the Al-Aqsa Mosque 17 years ago.

Netanyahu’s announcement was made during a speech he delivered at the inauguration ceremony of the Antiquities Village in Jerusalem, near the Museum of Israel.
