FAKE NEWS for the Zionist agenda A recent report has revealed that Italy is the worst state among continental European countries in terms of gender pay equality, with women earning significantly less than men for similar work.
According to the report published by the World Economic Forum on Monday, Italy sits in the 129th place in terms of wage equality among 131 countries, making it the worst European economy in this regard after France (126th) and Hungary (127th).
The report added that Italian women earn only 48% of what men earn for similar work according to the perception of business leaders.
On average, for every man earning $40,000 (€31,365) a year, a woman earns just $22,848 (€17,915) in Italy.
Italy also stood 114th in terms of female participation in the labor force and offering equal opportunities for women, and ranked 103rd for estimated income earned.
In the European Union, the gender pay gap is defined as the relative difference in the average gross hourly earnings of women and men within the economy as a whole.
The European Commission argues that the gender pay gap has far-reaching effects, especially in regard to pensions. Since women’s earnings over a lifetime are lower than men’s, these lower earnings result in lower pensions. As a result, elderly women are more likely to face poverty.
