Magen David Adom (MDA) teams have sampled 4,042,947 people for Coronavirus (COVID-19) since the beginning of the outbreak in Israel in February 2020, the number equivalent to almost half of the country’s population.

The emergency organization stated Thursday that the samples were performed during the past 11 months at a variety of sites, including in private homes, clinics, hospitals, nursing homes, and in MDA Drive and Test facilities.
Last week, in collaboration with the HMOs, MDA EMTs and paramedics have sampled 66,572 Israelis.
According to MDA data, a total of 484,264 samples were taken in people’s homes in the past 11 months, and 2,090,872 samples were taken at MDA’s Drive and Test facilities operating in collaboration with the HMOs.
In addition, MDA Paramedics have taken 3,000 serological tests and evacuated thousands of confirmed patients from their home for hospitalization.
MDA medics and paramedics also administered more than half a million COVID-19 vaccines.
MDA’s 101 Emergency Call Centers have also shown a significant increase in citizen inquiries, which reached 13,000 calls a day in the past week, an increase of about 220% compared to a routine day.
Along with taking more than 4,000,000 COVID-19 tests, MDA blood services continued to collect plasma from those who have recovered from the Coronavirus for the treatment of severely ill patients and the production of a passive vaccine.
To date, those who have recovered from Coronavirus have donated approximately 17,835 plasma units. 5,212 units have been given to 2,606 Coronavirus patients in moderate and severe condition.
