More Terror Attacks Foiled in France

French authorities foiled multiple terror attacks on Thursday amid a wave of jihad violence both domestically and abroad, according to reports.

Suspects already known to French intelligence services allegedly plotted to carry out similar deadly offensives after an alleged Islamic terrorist killed three people at a Catholic church in Nice, beheading at least one of the victims.

In the Paris suburb of Sartrouville, another Christian church was reportedly the target of man who was under surveillance by anti-terror agencies, Le Parisien reports.

The suspect’s father informed police that his son was “wanting to do as in Nice.”

The family’s neighborhood was cordoned off and a bomb squad was called to investigate the suspect’s vehicle, but no explosives were found.

After hours of questioning, the man was released.

In Lyon, police reportedly apprehended an Afghan man armed with a large knife.

“An Afghan armed with a knife of about thirty centimeters was arrested on rue Victor Hugo in Lyon,” Mediavenir reported.

“It was on this street that an improvised explosive device bombing in 2019 left 13 people injured. Fortunately, the man did not cause any casualties.”

France’s top officials have warned that French citizens are now effectively targets of jihadists anywhere in the world.

“We are in a war against an enemy that is both inside and outside. We need to understand that there have been and there will be other events such as these terrible attacks,” said Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin.
