Kim family members assumed the title “Dear Leader” to build a personality cult around him patterned after that of his father, the “Great Leader” or the “fearless leader” or ‘Dear Father” or “eternal leader” or “the great successor to the revolutionary cause” and Supreme Commander since the Army is the real foundation of power in North Korea.
