Hitting back against an attack ad from the American Energy Alliance, President Obama‘s reelection campaign unveiled a television ad on Monday that defends his energy-policy record. P
“Under President Obama, domestic oil production‘s at an eight-year high,” the narrator in the Obama campaign’s ad says. “So why is Big Oil attacking him? Because he’s fighting to end their tax breaks. He’s raising mileage standards and doubling renewable energy.
“In all these fights, Mitt Romney’s stood with Big Oil — for their tax breaks, attacking higher mileage standards and renewables,” the narrator says.
The ad is scheduled to air in Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Nevada, Ohio, and Virginia — all important swing states, according to the campaign.
The super PAC backing the Obama campaign, Priorities USA Action, released a similar ad last week attacking the American Energy Alliance, a group funded by major oil companies.
