An Israeli military official claimed the clash broke out on Sunday when the 18-year-old Palestinian boy “objected to routine security checks and confronted the soldiers.”
Israeli medical sources, on the other hand, claim that the teenager is in a “stable condition.”
The Sunday clash in the West Bank took place a few days after seven Palestinians were injured in an attack carried out by an Israeli tank on the Gaza Strip.
Palestinian medical sources said the tank shelling targeted an area near the Karni crossing northeast of the occupied territory.
Israeli troops also shot dead 20-year-old Mahmud Zakut in the city of Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza Strip on March 30, the same day when thousands of pro-Palestinians gathered in the occupied territory to mark the Palestinian Land Day.
