Phase 14 offshore drilling to start soon

 

TEHRAN, June 13 (Shana) – Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company (IOEC) will start offshore drilling operations at Phase 14 of the supergiant South Pars gas field by mid-July, operator of the phase said.

Farzad Ghazali said physical activities at the phase will start once the first drilling rig is fully installed at its designated place within a month.

22 wells are planned to be drilling at the phase which will take 2.5 years for their completion, he said.

IOEC is in charge of the drilling operation of phase 14.

Drilling operations at platforms A and C of the phase are being carried out by the national Iranian Drilling Company and platforms B and D are being done by IOEC.

Director of the drilling project at phase 14 further said $762.5b has been invested for drilling the wells.

Phase 14 is under development for production of 56.5 mcm/d of sour gas, 75,000 b/d of gas condensate, one million tons a year of liquefied gas, one million tons a year of ethane and 400 tons a day of sulfur.

A consortium of Iran’s Industrial Development and Renovation Organization (IDRO), National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC), Iran Shipbuilding & Offshore Industries Complex Co (ISOICO) and IOEC are in charge of Phase 14.
