Awake Goy Istanbul, April 14, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani said on Thursday that strong and close ties between Iran and Oman help boost stability and peace in the region.
He made the remarks in a meeting with Omani State Council Premier Yahya bin Mahfouz Al-Mundhiri on the sidelines of the 13th Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in the Turkish city of Istanbul.
President Rouhani called for speedy execution of bilateral agreements between Iran and Oman and said Tehran is committed to expand all-out ties with Muscat.
He appreciated Oman’s ‘logical’ stance on regional developments, adding that Tehran and Muscat should do their best to use bilateral capacities in the interest of two nations and the region.
Oman enjoys special position among Iran neighbors and strong and close ties between the two countries can help boost regional peace, stability and development, the President added.
Omani State Council Premier for his part said that there is no obstacle on the way of expansion of the two neighboring countries.
Omani lawmakers support closer ties with Iran, the official added.
He referred to the huge potentials for cooperation between Iran and Oman and voiced hope for promotion of Tehran-Muscat ties.
President Rouhani arrived in Istanbul Wednesday night.
