Awake Goy More than 1,700 Palestinian prisoners inside Israeli jails continue their open-ended hunger strike for the 24th day; Israel continues denying their legitimate demands.
The Palestinian Prisoners’ Club (PPC) reported that some of the hunger strikers stopped from drinking water for several hours due to the increasing difficulties they face when they use toilets.
Meanwhile, the Israeli Prison Services (IPS) started transferring hunger strikers from solitary confinement in Al-Ramla Prison to a field clinic that lacks basic supplies and medical specialists.
It also prevented, again, one of the lawyers of the Palestinian Detainees’ Committee from visiting hunger strike’s leader Prisoner Marwan Barghouthi, who is in solitary confinement at the Al-Jalama Prison.
The hunger strikers are demanding basic rights, guaranteed by International Law and the Fourth Geneva Convention, while the Israeli authorities continue rejecting their demands and are imposing various restrictions on them.
According to the PPC, the hunger strikers have been subject to repeated transfers, denial of family and lawyers’ visits and being put in solitary confinement.
One of the main demands of the hunger strikers is ending solitary confinement and administrative detention policies. They also demand professional and adequate medical care and direct body contact with their visiting family members.
