The sudden massive war drills ordered by Putin yesterday were in direct response to two major issues facing Russia – namely the fear of World War 3 being ignited by Turkish forces invading Syria, and the threat of a massive tsunami event occurring in the Northwest Pacific Ocean region. 

Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has told commanders of the Southern Military District that they need to be prepared to deploy troops up to 1,860 miles away to reach either Syria, or the Northwestern American-Canadian coastlines in case of the need for rescue defenses.
