Between 300 and 500 bikers took part in the rally, according to Belgian media. The demonstration was partially organized by the bikers group “Motards en Colère” (Angry bikers).

The bikers arrived in Belgian capital to “to honor the victims of the attacks,” Joe Vereecke, one of the organizers of the rally, said, as cited by Belgian TV.

“As motorcyclists we live solidarity and freedom. Let’s not diminish our freedom… We refuse to live in fear,” he said. “Rain, hail and snow did not prevent us from making this tribute today.”

The fatal attacks rocked the Belgian capital on March 22, when Brussels was hit by twin suicide bombings at Brussels’s Zaventem Airport and the Maelbeek metro station. The metro station is not far from the building housing the EU Commission and the Council of the European Union, as well as NATO’s headquarters.
