The Abrahamic Business Circle works for cooperation between the State of Israel and the United Arab Emirates through promoting greater tolerance and business relations.

Simon Fisher, Executive Director of “Save a Child’s Heart” and Dr Sagi Assa, Head of the Pediatric Invasive Cardiology Unit at Wolfson Hospital and the Sylvan Adams Children’s Hospital, received the award on behalf of the organization, sponsored by Sheikh Juma bin Maktoum Juma Al Maktoum, a member of the royal family of The Kingdom of Dubai, and Dr Raphael Nagel, Chairman and Founder of The Abrahamic Business Circle.

The award was announced at the first health conference of The Abrahamic Business Circle held in Dubai. The event was attended by members of the Abrahamic Business Circle who come from various places around the world, including the Gulf states, Israel, Pakistan, Sudan, Morocco and Algeria.

Save a Child’s Heart won the award for its international efforts in saving the lives of children with heart disease from countries where access to pediatric cardiac care does not exist or is limited, including from the Palestinian Authority and the Gaza Strip. These children come to Israel through the organization and receive life-saving heart surgeries at the newly built Sylvan Adams Children’s Hospital established in Holon.

Founded at the Wolfson Medical Center in 1995, Save a Child’s Heart has saved the lives of more than 5,700 children from 62 countries and has brought more than 140 local healthcare professionals to Israel for training so they can treat their own children independently and create centres of excellence in their home countries.  This has been made possible over the years with support by individual donors and foundations from around the world such as Save a Child’s Heart International Chairman and philanthropist, Morris Kahn.

Simon Fisher, Executive Director of the Save a Child’s Heart said: We sincerely thank the Abrahamic Business Circle Forum for its international recognition and activities to strengthen the ties between peoples and nations. Our core value at SACH is Tikkun Olam – doing good to repair the world and believing that every child deserves the best medical care, regardless of race, religion, gender, nationality or financial status. Under the auspices of the normalization agreements between the countries that are taking shape these days, we welcome this new level of cooperation and hope to host you all in Israel soon.”

Leading SACH donor, Sylvan Adams added: “Save a Child’s Heart has been doing God’s work for many years, offering life-saving surgeries to children from underprivileged geographies, including our Palestinian neighbours. That this work is now recognized in the UAE shows how much things have changed in our region. I was proud and humbled to have been invited to the White House last September to witness the signing of the Abraham Accords. So it is extra special for me to see these kids being treated in the new, state of the art children’s hospital that bears my name.”
