Just like former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, it appears that Jeff Sessions did not disclose contacts with Russian officials , including the ambassador Sergey Kislyak, on SF-86 security clearance forms submitted last year.
These forms require “any contact” Sessions and/or his family had with any “foreign government or its “representatives” going back 7 years. The Department of Justice confirmed Sessions simply “listed a year’s worth of meetings with foreign officials on the security clearance form.”
Sarah Isgur, spokeswoman for the DoJ claimed Sessions “and his staff were then told by an FBI employee who assisted in filling out the form, that he didn’t need to list dozens of meetings with foreign ambassadors that happened in his capacity as a senator.”
Isgur insisted that Sessions was instructed by the “FBI investigator handing the background check… not to list meetings with foreign dignitaries and their staff connected with his Senate activities.”
However, Sessions meetings with Kislyak were clearly not senatorial in nature because they happened during the RNC last year.
Congressman and ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee (HJC) John Conyers expressed his disapproval with Sessions , saying: “to list meetings with foreign dignitaries and their staff connected with his Senate activities.”
Conyers has requested that the HJC conducts a “careful review” Sessions because of the “ongoing investigation into the Trump campaign’s contact with the Russian government – an investigation from which Mr. Sessions is recused because of his failure to disclose similar contacts.”
Senator Kamala Harris weighed in on the issue, taking to Twitter to call for Sessions to step down.
He’s lied under oath. He’s misled on security clearance forms. It’s simple – he should not be the Attorney General. https://t.co/JKUdHUWVdg

Jared Kushner, Donald Trump’s son-in-law and member of the senior staff at the White House also neglected to disclose meetings with Russians and ambassador Sergey Kislyak on security clearance forms.
Kushner’s excuse was his omissions were an “oversight”.
Congressman Ted Lieu publicly called for Kushner’s clearance to be revoked pending a thorough investigation by lawmakers on Capitol Hill.
Lieu said: “Kushner’s security clearance absolutely should be suspended. I’ve filled out these forms before … one of the reasons you have this form is to figure out if the person had contacts with foreign officials. Jared Kushner intentionally omitted his various contacts and he knew these contact were important because of the whole Russia scandal that’s been developing. He lied and he needs to have his security clearance revoked.”
