She Withered Away after Being Hit by a Car, but Poor Baby New Her Rescuers Would Come

The number of stray animals in the Philippines is huge. It is believed that most of the animals that end up on the streets were once family pets who got dumped by their owners. This is mostly due to the fact that most people can’t afford taking the animals to the vet’s as the medical treatments cost a lot of money.

However, that can never be an excuse for abandoning a living creature that was once part of your home and family.

Recka is just one of the helpless creatures that are left to fend for themselves in this country.

Her story is pretty incredible because when she was first spotted, baby Recka only weighted one kilogram, or 2.2 pounds, but thanks to the TLC she received by her rescuers, she turned into a healthy dog.

Sadly, Recka wasn’t only abandoned, but she was also hit by a car, which prevented her from being able to find herself food and water. So, it wasn’t surprising that she was emaciated and dehydrated when her saviors found her.

The very first thing to do was take Recka to the hospital. She was in urgent need of help as her skin was infected and she had to be treated for severe malnutrition.

Her body was all cleaned up and she received a nice and warm bath.

At the time, Recka was way too fragile and drained to be able to stand on her feet, but the good thing was that she wanted to eat which meant she could regain her strength soon.

A young woman named She Rojas, who is a huge animal lover and advocate, along with her sister decided to be around Recka’s side and give her home once she recovers and ends her treatments.

Rojas helped the rescuers take care of Recka, especially with her mange.

Shortly after she was taken off the streets, Recka started gaining weight thanks to her appetite and the supplements she was getting.

This dog’s transformation has to be seen to be believed.

Just look at the huge smile on her face, isn’t she the cutest?

Recka’s story is a reminder that no matter how desperate we feel, we should never forget that there is always light at the end of the tunnel.

This is very inspirational and teaches us that the love and kindness we give to others, no matter how small it may seem to us, means the world to those who receive it.
