The cat’s condition, which is known as Janus syndrome, is incredibly rare and almost always results in death

A two-headed kitten has become an internet sensation after surviving against all the odds.

The adorable cat, named Dragon by her owners, was born in Voronezh, south-western Russia.

It has two completely formed faces, however at this early stage only one appears to be moving and functional.

Vets have taken the kitten into care so they can ensure it is looked after and gets special treatment.

One family member told the local media: “The kitten is very weak and does not move that well.

“It seems to be finding it very hard to keep food down.”

Dragon has defied the odds with surviving this long, but vets fear she still has a long road ahead.

The phenomenon – known as Janus syndrome – is caused by a condition called diprosopus.

This is a rarely-seen condition which is in many cases fatal.
