Sinéad O’Connor has been found safe, local police confirmed, after a desperate hunt was launched to find the Irish singer when she disappeared on Sunday from a suburb of Chicago.
The Police were called after O’Connor “left the Wilmette area” for a bicycle ride on Sunday morning at 6am and had not returned.
According to TMZ, the Irish singer has been classified as “missing suicidal.”
RT reports:
According to a police statement, the singer left the area at 6 a.m. Sunday but has not yet returned.
The statement goes on to say that the caller who raised the alarm “expressed concern for her well-being”, and police are seeking to check on her.

It is not clear why O’Connor was in Illinois, or what her connection is to the Wilmette area.
US comedian Arsenio Hall filed a $5 million suit against O’Connor last week, after she accused him on Facebook of providing the late singer Prince with drugs.
In the legal filing, Hall accused “desperate, attention-seeking Sinead O’Connor” of “maliciously” publishing defamatory statements “falsely accusing him” of supplying drugs to Prince.
O’Connor’s first major hit was her 1990 cover of Prince’s Nothing Compares 2 U.
The artist has openly struggled with mental health illness in the past. More recently, the singer posted numerous posts on Facebook regarding a custody battle with the father of her 12-year-old son.
