Yoda.
In the final battle of the popularity stakes, Jedi Master Yoda triumphed over arch-enemy Darth Vader.
In the starwars.com poll of its fans, Yoda scored a comprehensive victory with 60 per cent of respondents preferring him to the Dark Lord of the Sith.
For the forces of light, the final contenders came down to Obi-Wan Kenobi, R2-D2 and Chewbacca along with the perennial favourite, Yoda.
On the dark side, Boba Fett was a strong contender along with Emperor Palpatine.
C3PO was eliminated in the first round, as was the gremlin-like Salacious Crumb.
Jar-Jar Binks never made it into contention.
Lord Vader was reportedly not pleased with the outcome.
“You have failed me for the last time. Maybe my heart is too big. Maybe I am too trusting of others. Well, lesson learned. All I trust is the Dark Side. And the Emperor… I can totally trust him…”, he declared.
Yoda is yet to issue a statement.
