It’s perhaps a little-known fact: The signing of the U.S. Constitution happened on Sept. 17, 1787.
The federal government is doing what it can to ensure that this and other facts about the Constitution become common knowledge, and it has an active partner in making it happen: the Tea Party.
Nationally and locally in Redondo Beach, the political organization has launched a campaign to ensure that school districts abide by a 2004 federal law mandating that schools dedicate much of this week to teaching the Constitution.
