The History and Impact of #UNIT8200 on Israeli High-Tech Entrepreneurship

Unit 8200 is an elite branch of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) that specializes in (SIGINT) i.e. computer security and murkier, more controversial stuff, such as espionage and cyber attacks (Stuxnet & NSO Group’s Pegasus Malware). The Unit resembles the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) in the U.S.

Two companies to watch out for who were founded by Unit 8200 Alumni are: Team8 and OurCrowd. These two companies are Venture Capitalists that crowd source Israeli High-Tech companies and many of them are start-ups that are founded by Unit 8200 alumni. Team8 was founded by former Unit 8200 commander Nadav Zafrir & just recently, OurCrowd launched a spin-off called OurNetwork.

Who is Richard Gutjar and more importantly, who is Einat Wilf?

In case if you forgot, the wife of Richard Gutjahr is Einat Wilf. It just so happens that Richard ‘GoodJoke’ Gutjahr was at the location of a “terrorist shooting massacre” in Munich, Germany on July 22, 2016. His daughter Thamina Stoll, was also “reporting” on location at the Munich Mall attack. Thamina Stoll met Hillary Clinton twice that I am aware of. The 2nd time was at Hillary’s “AltRight Speech”. You can see her wearing the red dress behind the Asian woman with the red & white USA sign.

Richard Gutjahr is also known for being present at the Nice, France “truck attack” and providing video footage from his hotel balcony that supposedly “killed and wounded hundreds of people” on July 14, 2016. Interesting tidbit: NICE is also a company founded by Unit 8200 & allegedly involved with the attacks on September 11th, 2001.

Richard Gutjahr’s wife, Einat Wilf, is an Israeli politician who served as a member of the Knesset for Independence and the Labor Party. Einat Wilf was born in Jerusalem. During her national service in the Israel Defense Forces she was an Intelligence Officer in Unit 8200, and reached the rank of lieutenant. She then went to Harvard University, receiving a BA in government. Wilf describes herself as a Zionist and an atheist.

Wilf served as a Foreign Policy Advisor to Vice Prime Minister Shimon Peres, a strategic consultant with McKinsey & Company in New York City and a General Partner with Koor Corporate Venture Capital in Israel. A frequent guest on Israeli radio and television talk shows and a member of the President’s Conference Steering Committee. In 2007, she ran for the presidency of the World Jewish Congress.
