This evening I had the great honor and pleasure of being a guest on Patriot Nation Live! hosted by Mark Hoffmann, broadcast on World Integrity News Network. Mark and I discussed the egregious, tyrannical overreach of the federal government in Burns, Oregon, as well as the treasonous behavior of Sheriff Dave Ward and Governor Kate Brown. Our show started with discussion of Mr. LaVoy Finicum’s untimely death on January 26, 2016 – just one day before his 55th birthday – and his service in Kanab, UT on February 5, 2016. The shared love, sympathy, condolences for the Finicum family, and the Patriot community at large was palpable between us. The nation truly lost a genuine Son of Liberty that fateful day in January.

Soon afterward we began our discussion of the downright unlawful and Unconstitutional acts perpetrated in Burns, Oregon, by not only the federal agents, but also by their own elected state officials. We talked about Sheriff Dave Ward, Harney county Judge Steve Grasty, and Oregon Governor Kate Brown. We very briefly touched on the illegitimacy of the FBI per the 10th Amendment and Article I, Section 8, Clause 1, because of the bastardization of “general Welfare” by Congress; which was attempted in 1792 during the Cod Fishery Debates. Take a moment to read the very adroit and astute argument by James Madison against the current use of “general Welfare” to see what the founders did not intend.

Mark asked about Sheriff Dave Ward, and his Constitutional authority as the highest law enforcement agent in Harney County, Oregon. I briefly explained that while the Constitution for the United States of America does not mention the office of Sheriff specifically, to my knowledge every State Constitution does have a provision for same; each listing the selection process and duties for same. It is based on this fact, the Oath of Office sworn by all Sheriffs, as well as the 10th Amendment, and Article IV, Section 4 and Article VI, Clause 2, which confer all county Sheriffs with the ultimate, highest law enforcement authority in the Republic. So decisive is their authority that a county Sheriff may eject the very President of the United States from his or her county if the necessity should arise.

Which begs the questions: What the actual hell has Sheriff Dave Ward been doing all this time in Harney county? Where do his loyalties lie? For whom does he actually work – the citizens of Harney county, or the judge (and his cronies) who appointed him? Based on the activities in Harney county since the Constitutional occupation of the Malheur refuge, these questions – and many more – are very legitimate and require answers. Perhaps a short look into his history, as well as the history of Judge Grasty, will shed the much needed light on the subject.

Based on the official biography at the Oregon State Sheriffs’ Association website, Sheriff Dave Ward is a 21 year Army veteran, was born and raised in a very small Oregon community, and has a strong background in law enforcement prior to his appointment as Sheriff of Burns county in January 2015. His appointment to the position came on the heels of the resignation of the previous Sheriff Glerup, who asked that Judge Steve Grasty choose his successor until such time as the normal election cycle in November 2016 should come to pass. This simple fact – that he was appointed by a judge of questionable character and loyalties himself – should cause any thinking person to pause for a moment. It defies simple logic, and the heart of every veteran, that a man who served 21 years with the Army would blatantly stand against Patriots and other veterans. That he would stand against his Oath to the Constitution for the United States and Oregon State, and would condone the egregious, unlawful, immoral acts of a corrupt, tyrannical federal government.

However, we really shouldn’t be surprised. A quick glance at democrat Judge Steve Grasty’s professional profile is very telling. In addition to his current position as a Harney county judge, Steve Grasty is (or has been) President of the Association of Oregon counties, and holds (or has held) multiple board position in and around the Burns, Oregon area. Among these positions are; board member of the Training and Employment Consortium for Oregon regions 13 and 14, Harney County Commission Chairman, and Board Member of Rural Development Initiative, Inc. – a non profit organization. He also holds other positions in Harney county while sitting as the County Judge; among them are public health officer, chief budget officer, and chief executive officer. It would certainly seem that with the economic situation in Harney county being what it is, that Steve Grasty could relinquish one or two paid positions, making way for his fellow citizens to secure employment.

On the surface, it would appear that there is a conflict of interest for Mr. Grasty to hold an elected position as County Judge and the multiple other offices. However, since the judgeship that Grasty holds doesn’t fall under the Judicial Branch of the Oregon government, and is actually under the Executive branch, there may not be any rules preventing him for serving in the multiple roles that he does. You see, his position is one of an administrative capacity. Oregon has many types of administrative boards, and the Harney County Commission would fall under this type of legislative body. As such, Grasty is a judge in name only; he does not preside over any court, nor does he pass any type of civil or criminal judgments outside of his role as Chairman of the Harney County Commission. His only authority as a judge is over those matters which fall under the purview of the county commission. Any decisions he makes can be appealed to Oregon state appellate courts. This information alone should cause one to dig deeply into any decisions or opinions he has issued over his tenure that may be outside of his scope as Harney County Judge.

Now we come to Oregon Governor Kate Brown. As the chief executive for Oregon, she has ultimate responsibility for what happens within her state. Yet, rather than acting with decisiveness on behalf of the citizens of Harney county, she instead opted to seek the assistance of the federal government. In her letter to the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation, Governor Brown said “However, for the citizens of Harney County and indeed all Oregonians, I must insist on a swift resolution to this matter.” This statement in and of itself is an outright abdication of her authority and responsibility as governor. Like too many Americans, Kate Brown has lost sight of the true hierarchy of government in this great Republic we call America. Contrary to the misinformation we have been fed throughout our entire tenure of formal education, the federal government is NOT on the top of the ‘food chain’. In point of fact, the true order is We the People, our respective States, then the federal government. DC is supposed to take orders from our states and us; not the other way around. By writing the aforementioned letter to the federal agencies, Governor Brown all but ordered the unlawful arrests of the key members of the Malheur refuge occupation, and the subsequent assassination of LaVoy Finicum.

These three key players in Oregon – Sheriff Ward, Judge Grasty, and Governor Brown – have conspired together and separately to commit treason. Their acts of treason are not only against the People of Oregon, specifically the citizens of Harney county, but also the brave men and women who made the conscious choice to Stand Tall for Liberty at the Malheur Refuge. It is absolutely despicable when elected officials who receive compensation from the public budget, act in such heinous and egregious ways. By their own actions – and inactions – Ward, Grasty, and Brown all but signed the death warrant for LaVoy Finnicum, as well as the arrest warrants for the remaining eleven men and women; some of whom are still being detained without bail.

Now is not the time – YET – to take up arms against the abusers and usurpers of our Natural Rights and Law. However, it is long past the time for self-education and sharing of the wickedness and deceit that is rife among all levels of government across our Republic. As Patriots and Americans, it is our sovereign duty to expose those elected as the criminal evildoers that they are. Today is the day to shine the Light of Truth on them, to shout from our rooftops for all to hear and learn, so that once again Liberty My Prevail!
