Trump supports firms doing business with settlers

Trump Administration is again demanding UN Human Rights Council to refrain from publishing “blacklist” of international firms doing business will illegal Jewish settlers.

UN hopes to label these companies, which include Caterpillar, TripAdvisor, Priceline.com and Airbnb, to as part of its pressure on the illegal settlers living in illegal settlements built in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The Trump Administration, which has already once forced the UN to postpone publishing the blacklist, called it a totally counterproductive move.

US State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said: “The United States has been adamantly opposed to this resolution from the start.”

She added: “These types of resolutions are counterproductive and do nothing to advance Israeli-Palestinian issues.”

But UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad al-Hussein signalled that he is determined to publish the list by the end of the year and start pressuring large public firms to join the anti-Israel boycott.
