Two Palestinian minors given 18 years in Israeli jails

Israeli occupation court sentenced two Palestinian minors to 18 years in prison each over claims of stabbing, wounding Israeli settler in May 2016.

The claimed attack took place in the illegal Israeli Jewish settlement of East Talpiyot in the occupied Palestinian city of Jerusalem.

A third Palestinian boy was also sentenced to 25 months in prison for his involvement in planning the alleged attack.

In addition to the long-time sentences, the Israeli court also ordered the two teens to pay 200,000 shekels ($57,000), Israeli outlet Arutz Sheva reported.

The three Palestinians were abducted weeks after the claimed attack, when the youths were between 16 and 17 years old.

All of them from the occupied East Jerusalem neighbourhood of Jabel al-Mukabbir, which is adjacent to the aforementioned illegal Israeli Jewish settlement is located.

Israel newspaper’s report said that the Israeli court depended on Facebook posts found on the Facebook pages of the three minors to indict them.

Meanwhile, another Israeli military court filed charges against three Palestinian minors who were abducted last month for allegedly throwing Molotov cocktails and stones at Israeli forces in Bethlehem.

Israeli police spokeswoman Luba al-Samri said in a statement that three youths, aged between 15 and 16 years old, admitted to throwing stones and Molotov cocktails.
